NARS “Heat Wave” lipstick and a glorious menu at Les Fous De L’Ile in Paris, France
I’ve been cheating on my much more involved makeup routine with red lipstick. I had always been intimidated by it, but on our trip to Paris, we saw so many red lips, I just had to give it a try and really liked it! This summer I’ve expanded my horizons to a few other brands and shades…
I lean toward the red orange shades of red lipstick which are flattering on almost every skintone
Since red lips take “center stage”, I’ve been pairing down the rest of my makeup… tinted moisturizer, powder, mascara and slightly rosy cheeks- if its night I’ll add a corner line of dark brown eyeshadow. So quick and easy and fun!
KF and the dogs “photobomb” me as I take a pic of me wearing “Chili Flake”
There are pages and pages dedicated to red lips on the internet- even a few Facebook pages and now I see why! Scroll down for a clickable shopping list to my favorite shades.
Hmmm, what shade will I wear tonight? Happy Saturday! Xo Dani

Jemma Kidd- available in store at Target
Back when I was working at Ralph Lauren, this time of year was referred to as “transition”. Designers are beginning to put new items for Fall in the stores but its not in “full effect” just yet. The average shopper is really still in summer mode and, like me, still in “vacation mode“. Personally, I’m usually not inspired to shop for full on Fall till September, but I happened to be walking by my favorite H&M (5th Ave, NYC) the other day, and decided to pop in to see what was up. Walking into H&M for me pretty much always means I’ll buy something…
I am happy to see that bright colors and neon seem to be sticking around for another season… I could not resist this boxy, oversized, bright pink sweater for $19.99! I have to go back to check other colors this week…
I am intrigued by the Great Gatsby trend for Fall and I thought this sequin collar was unique and beautifully done for $24.95… I’m excited to try it out sooner rather than later!
Buying cheap jewelry can be dangerous but this mod style clear ring for $4.95 looks so cool on and I promised myself to throw it away the minute the first rhinestone falls off. That’s kind of the idea of h&m- trendy “disposable” fashion…
Speaking of cheap, I loved these earrings… they remind me of a vintage, mod bathing cap… I wore them once and they are already falling apart- boo! I’m going to try to craft them back to life…
Does anyone know how these double hair tie bands work? No matter… I’m going to separate them and add a pin back to one and wear the other in my hair… (not at the same time)
This is something I will def being going back for… the perfect rhinestone birthday crown- only $3.95! A must buy for all fab friends (I gave this one to Amanda)!
So, all in all, I mostly bought accessories which pretty much sums up the “transition season”. H&M, see you in September! Happy Saturday! Xo Dani
