The Boys of Summer

It feels like we had an extra week of Summer with Labor Day being so late this year, but most kiddos are already back-to-school and pumpkin flavored menu items are already back (its a little soon- just saying). I’m submitting my Halloween cookie cutter design to CopperGifts tomorrow (yes!!) and I have already acquired some new, AMAZING, Halloween decorations… In these last 2.5 days of this long weekend I am going to soak it in. I always get a little sentimental this last weekend and Don Henley’s “Boys of Summer” always comes to mind (of course in my version, I’m thinking of cookies- haahaaa)…

Here are some photos from one of many favorite Summer Days this year spent with 2 of my favorite “boys”…

I couldn’t help but make a few shark cookies to bring to our Summer Vacation trip to the Vineyard and Nantucket this year…

YES!!! Awesome jump!

This is the lagoon where Chief Brody's boys were swimming in the water and JAWS enters... I suggested a re-inactment but KF said no.

So we headed into Edgartown to get some ice cream at The Scoop Shack. So delish!

I set him on this fence... either he made some other people smile or an animal enjoyed a tasty cookie dessert that night!

As the sun set we spied the Loch Ness monster headed due south, maybe he ended up eating my JAWS cookie!

April Fools’ Antics

To make the healthier foods in your fridge more appealing to your family, just add googly eyes. Xo

Its just a silly little “holiday”, but I have always got a kick out of a fun April Fools’ joke. Yesterday, I had a good chuckle setting up this photo in my fridge and posting it on Facebook and Instagram. It didn’t take very long thanks to the fact that in my large collection of googly eyes, I had some self adhesive versions on hand! This idea was inspired by a fun April Fools’ Day on The Martha Show where we added googly eyes to Martha’s “home base” produce.

Here's my April Fools stylist partner in crime. This was a very fun day on The Martha Show. Martha is infamous for her April Fool's sense of humor!

Here’s my April Fools stylist partner in crime, Kait Taylor. This was a very fun day on The Martha Show in 2009 where we set up Martha’s usual beautiful platter of produce with this amazing cauliflower!

Martha Stewart is actually quite infamous for her April Fool’s sense of humor! We also made some spaghetti trees that day which can be seen in this amazing highlight reel of Martha’s April Fool’s pranks… glittered chair anyone? or how about some spaghetti squash? 🙂

My favorite reaction from my googly eyed setup yesterday was that of KF’s. I had gone out and left dinner for him in the fridge… SDB April Fools_KF facebook post

🙂 Happy April! Xo Dani
