Cookie Flower Workshop with the Daisy Girl Scouts
My memories of being a Brownie and then a Girl Scout are a bit dim now that I have reached the ripe old age of 40, but from what I do recall, I always enjoyed it. I loved the community of it, I loved earning badges and, of coarse, I loved the cookies. It wasn’t until I joined the Daisy Troop of Hoboken, NJ for a Friday afternoon “Spring Flowers” cookie workshop, did I realize the deeper benefits of being an alumni of this 101 year old “American Institution” of growing young girls.

Once I signed on to do the workshop, I was super excited to find a few of my old badges. One to note: Cookie Rodeo Champ of 1982! Yes!!!
I began our Spring cookie workshop with the Daisy Troop by introducing myself, then going around the room and asking each girl to tell me their name and favorite cookie. Being a Samoa fan myself, I was surprised to learn Thin Mints were the most popular GS cookie in this group! (Shocking info!)

The girls gather ’round for the first cookie demo- of coarse I had to wear my cookie deputy badge (which I made into a brooch)

As soon as that blank cookie hit their paper plates, they were abuzz with ideas and eagerly icing and decorating!

When all our flowers and bonus love bug cookies were decorated, I asked everyone to choose their favorite, and pose for a photo with me… Everybody say “COOKIE!!!”
What a lovely afternoon! I hope everyone enjoyed their cookies…
Life is Sweet- especially with the Girl Scouts! Hope to visit with them again! Xo Dani
