Candy Corn Feather Turkey Cookies
Thanksgiving is just a week away and these candy corn feathered turkey cookies are the perfect project for the weekend! They are festive and colorful and can be iced quickly. These are super fun cookies to decorate with your favorite kiddos- their little fingers are especially good for candy corn placement! Gingerbread cookies (get our gingerbread recipe here) make this project even less work but when aiming to please all guests big and small you can also cut the shapes using out sugar cookie cut recipe (get our sugar cookie recipe here).
Mix brown, orange and just a small touch of red royal icing. You will need some small candy beads to use as eyes.
Let dry up to 8 hours or overnight before packaging or plating up. If you are using sugar cookies for your turkeys, ice the full body in brown first. Check out our SweetDaniB TV “One of a Kind Turkey” How-to-Ice video to see how we ice the full body.
To free up some prep time on Wednesday and/ or Thanksgiving Day, make these over the weekend or on Monday or Tuesday then store in an airtight container in a cool dry place. They will be ready and delish to be plated up on Thanksgiving Day.
Check out our SweetDaniB TV Thanksgiving Playlist on youtube for other SWEET cookie and craft ideas including a super fun gourd turkey centerpiece!
