Choosing the theme “beautiful blooming flowers” for my sister-in-law’s 30th Birthday party was a cinch. She love, love, loves colorful flowers. Since they have a frisky cat in the family, she is not one to have live arrangements around too often and instead expresses her love for them through her jewelry, and clothing. I have collected lots of flower cookie cutters over the years and mixed them in with number 30’s and some hearts (of course!).

The flower color theme came easy too... summer brights plus a bit of luster dust guilding...

Our cookie flower color pallette came easy too… summer brights plus a bit of luster dust guilding… Nicole loves a touch of metallic here and there but nothing too flashy.

Rainbow nonpareils or sprinkles always say boirthday to me so I included them in the flower centers and on the number 30 cookie favors.

Nicole’s birthday dinner was set for a Saturday night at an Italian restaurant that serves its meals “family style”.  I wanted to craft something festive that would dress up the table, but not be in the way like centerpieces sometimes can be.

These crepe paper flower crowns did the trick! They looked so pretty on the plates and added a fun pop of color.

I was so excited when each girl discovered their crown on their plate and did not hesitate to put them on! Such fun ladies!

Every birthday party requires a cake and to add a little extra love, I was inspired to make Nicole’s cake myself. After some detailed Pinterest research, I discovered the recipe for “THAT Chocolate Cake” which one reviewer aptly commented “If you could only have one recipe for chocolate cake, this would be the one.”  So delicious! This recipe is a keeper!
