Cecelia’s Sock Monkey 1st Birthday Party

I have always loved the Sock Monkey theme for a birthday party but what I especially loved about designing this theme into Cecelia’s 1st party is that for her it came from an authentic place- this sock monkey one of her favorite toys!

I gave the sock monkey on the left to my brother years ago (of course I bought one for myself too!) I'm happy to say it has become one of Cecelia's favorite stuffed animal friends!

Nicole, Cece’s Mom, and I began brainstorming by sharing a board together on Pinterest.

To say that I am obsessed with Ointerest would be an understatement. I use it for work, inspiration and even find it a fun and relaxing thing to do in my free time.

Once we decided on our favorites we got to work…

I did a sock monkey illustration for the invite and mounted it on craft paper.

We also covered the tables in craft paper. The centerpieces were white bowls filled with bananas and a mini sock monkey "holding" a single red balloon.

We added "Cece Confetti" to the tables as well as pink and red glitter heart confetti. Chalk was for doodling and we set the tables with the plates and chevron napkins to add color and festiveness!

Of course we had to let everyone know about Cece's birthday party hashtag!

Since most of Cecelia's friends are around her age, Nicole decided this DIY ball pit would be a great "activity" and she was right!

We decorated the sweets table with a colorful chevron handpainted table runner, added a few sock monkey friends and hung a photo banner made up of monthly photos Nicole and I had taken of Cecelia every month on her birth day.

As well as the cupcake tower, we served C’s confetti cookies (recipe to follow, I promise!) and Aunt Tam’s famous banana bread.

The centerpiece of the sweets table was a GoodieBoxBake Shop tiered mini cupcake tower. I topped C's smash cake with a cookie of her and a few pink sock monkey

My favorite part of the party was when one of Cecelia's Uncles came out dressed as a sock monkey! (The crowd went wild)
