Sweet Style Saturdays: Red Lipstick

SDB Red Lipstick in France
NARS “Heat Wave” lipstick and a glorious menu at Les Fous De L’Ile in Paris, France

I’ve been cheating on my much more involved makeup routine with red lipstick. I had always been intimidated by it, but on our trip to Paris, we saw so many red lips, I just had to give it a try and really liked it! This summer I’ve expanded my horizons to a few other brands and shades…

SDB Red Lipstick lipstick set up
I lean toward the red orange shades of red lipstick which are flattering on almost every skintone

Since red lips take “center stage”, I’ve been pairing down the rest of my makeup… tinted moisturizer, powder, mascara and slightly rosy cheeks- if its night I’ll add a corner line of dark brown eyeshadow. So quick and easy and fun!

SDB Red Lipstick Photobomb
KF and the dogs “photobomb” me as I take a pic of me wearing “Chili Flake”

There are pages and pages dedicated to red lips on the internet- even a few Facebook pages and now I see why! Scroll down for a clickable shopping list to my favorite shades.

Hmmm, what shade will I wear tonight? Happy Saturday! Xo Dani

  • your skin is so golden, that red looks orange 🙂 You are starting a new “orange lips” trend! I did NOT see a single shark at Cape Cod tihs week. I also did not do more than walk in the water 🙁

  • In your case, Dani, the red lips are a DEFINITE yes. LOVE those shades! I’m very intimidated with trying red cause I can easily look like a clown. But I think I may have to test some shades out 😉
