Macy’s Fireworks over NYC, July 4th, 2012
I woke up this morning thinking about smiley faces. Not only because I’m lucky to be a “glass half full” person, but because last night’s fireworks display included a bunch of smiley face fireworks and a simple little smiley face can easily make my whole day.
I spent my “coffee time” this morning, reading and watching a super informative video (thanks Maddow Blog!) about how these fireworks work. Its pretty amazing how they are constructed into the shape they will explode into…
This amazing photo from The Maddow Blog shows that smiley face fireworks smile both before and after they are ignited! How cool is that?!
And just for fun here’s some photos of other smileys that have made me smile recently…
After trying many different faces on my Uncle Sam cookie, I found the simple smiley to the winner. Next time I will ice the mouth with a thinner tip… (I promise our how to ice video of this cookie will be ready in time for election day!)
These make me smile every time I use them! Our “His & Her” Zombie Oven mitts from collisionware.com! (They are much more smiley than the zombies on Walking Dead!)
I loved that one of our favorite places in Asbury used this smiley face stamp for admittance!
Even though KF thinks the bedazzling on this smiley face shirt is too “JWoww” I just couldn’t resist! It IS a pink glittery smiley face after all!
This morning, after seeing all those smileys, I couldn’t resist pulling out my fave vintage mug and doing this funny little arrangement!
Here’s to a smiley rest of the week! Xo Dani
